WattCompare ("we", "our", "us") operates wattcompare.net, an independent energy comparison website. This policy explains how we handle your information.
2. Information We Collect
Automatically: Like most websites, we receive standard technical information including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL. This is collected via Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare analytics — both aggregated and anonymised.
Solar Quote Requests: When you submit our solar quotes form, you provide your name, phone number, email address, postcode, property type, ownership status, interest type, budget range, and preferred contact time. This information is transmitted to our form processor (Formspree) and forwarded to up to 3 trusted solar installers in your area.
We do not create user accounts, send marketing emails, or sell your personal information to data brokers.
3. How Your Solar Quote Data Is Used
- Your details are shared only with up to 3 Australian solar installation companies matched to your postcode and requirements.
- Installers may contact you by phone or email to provide quotes as requested.
- We do not use your quote data for any other purpose.
- Form submissions are stored by Formspree (our form backend) for 30 days, then automatically deleted.
4. Google AdSense & Cookies
We display advertisements via Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites (interest-based advertising).
You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or via aboutads.info.
Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Advertising Privacy Policy.
5. CMP Consent (GDPR)
Visitors from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are presented with Google's Certified CMP (Consent Management Platform) consent banner via Google Funding Choices before personalised ads are served. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the "Privacy & Cookies" link in the page footer or clearing your browser cookies.
6. Cloudflare

- Request access to any personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
